Hello, I like the gray brick color. Anyways, why don't you do a light brown with cream trim and either a dark brown door or deep red. That would look really sharp.

Wow, I LOVE your house!! You're only painting the doors and trim, right??? It would be a sin to paint that gorgeous brick!

Well, I'm obsessed with color, so I'll definitely let you know what I come up with!!! (Ooh, I wish I was at home right now. The Home Depot color swatch book is calling to me from my cupboard!!)

I think a dark Brick Red would look great against that gray!!!

Good luck! :)

P.s. I am SO GLAD you joined the Diet Diva blog!!! :p

Brick red might look good.... But I would lean toward darker blues or even into deep purple if I were you. Or maybe deep green... Again, I'm obsessed with color, so I have all the swatches... So you'll have to go down to Home Depot and Lowe's to see the actual colors. The Home Depot ones are exact colors I like; the Lowe's ones are from their Virtual Painter, so I don't know if it's the EXACT color you would like, but they're close... Anyway, here are my choices:

LOWE’S:
*Alexander Julian - AJ102 – “Holland’s Pond”
*Laura Ashley – 1116 – “Paris Green”
*Eddie Bauer – EB30-1 – “Raisin”
*Eddie Bauer – EB 31-1 – “Night Sky”

HOME DEPOT (all Behr colors):
*530D-7D - "Grand Rapids"
*580B-7D - "American Anthem
*550D-7D - "Southern Evening"
*560D-6D - "Seven Seas"

Anything saturated will look pretty good, I think!

Welcome to our Diet Diva group! Love your blog and contest! I'm looking around at house colors this week for ya'. Mine is neutral browns with a cut-glass door and brown roof. I have tan blinders in the windows. You can see my slide show on my blog :D I'm always looking at houses too. The only house I'd change here has dark green trim & garage door.(on a tan house). They want a half-million for a so-so house. I'd paint the green a brown. I think a gray is an awesome neutral color-not sure why people are rude? Your house is beautiful! Sometimes shutters, potted trees, new light fixtures or new driveway make a huge change. Good luck with everything!

It seems like you've got some great suggestions already! Does your HOA limit the colors you can use? The letter you got probably says that you have to get approval before you paint and all that, right? We painted the trim of our old house right before we sold it and moved here and it was so much fun. Not. Anyway, I don't have any better suggestions than what's been listed here already, but I'm looking forward to seeing what you choose!

I like the gray brick color too. You just need to dress it up a bit. I think a red door with dark red brick colored trim would look nice with the gray. Blacks, whites, grays, and reds are classic color combinations that are timeless. Also a couple of hanging baskets on the sides of your garage would be very cute. Welcome to diet divas.

Hi Julia, checking out your personal blog (here from Diet Divas-Christy)

Gosh, I love the grey brick too! I would just dress it up and play with it. Found this site, it was one of the first ones I found while searching, http://yourcolorcoach.wordpress.com/2007/06/20/stone-and-blond-brick-house-trim-colors/

I'm going to keep looking online though and if I find anything else worth sharing I will be back :)

Have a great day girlie :)

Check out these photos:

I just did a search online for "pictures of grey brick houses" and found these images for ideas. I personally think you shouldn't paint the brick, but have fun with color trimming and dressing it up. That could be a lot of fun :) And great results! :)

Good luck and I'll look forward to hearing more about it and what you decide.
