Pros..
-Let's other stay up to date with our family goings on.
- Its like a journal so should be one less thing to do in a day/week
- One day Ill print it = scrapbooks for the kids

Cons...
- I don't always think about doing it
- takes up my much needed pintrest time lol
- I don't always have anything to share hello I'm the person you can go a year without talking to and after asking me what's new I think hard and really not much is new or different then the last time we talked.
- I type like I talk so very bad grammer..

So I guess I'm asking what makes blogging worth it to you???

I was given the oppertunity to go with my awesome friend Kate to San Fransico!! It was so much fun and we got to see and do so many different things. Well we were there we went to Alcatraze and beach and shopping!! We even where able to hang out with my sister and family. It was nice to get away. But so nice to get home and see my kiddos and hubby again...

Ok so sorry we moved back to our home in Kyle TX. We are working hard to get settled back in. Kids miss all there friends from Waco. And so do we. What eles has. We are painting and getting our garden ready to plant hopefully this weekend had a set back this last weekend as I had a fight with the kitchen aid mixer while making bread and then gave Robert a scare by fainting and so we had a lovely visit to the new hospital down the rd and lots of xrays and a ekg later I'm fine and my hand its just sprained. Well I guess that's all for now if you need or want our new address orr phone number please leave a comment. .....

So we made it a year! She is one of the happiest babies out there. She is just starting to pull up on everything and everyone. So we are just waiting on the time she gets brave enough to take that first step. Here are a few of the pictures from last night. She had a lot of fun eating her favorite dinner pasta salad and having chocolate cake! So glad grandma helped cleaning up as I took baby and she took High Chair duty! THanks again to everyone who remembered Harper on her special day.

Dear Hyde,

You are one wild and exciting kid. I am so glad I get to be your mom. Everyday you teach me something new. Wow your 3! You are a great big brother to Harper. You are so gentle and kind to her. And just out of the blue will NEED to give her a kiss. I love and hate that you will run out of nursery to give us just one more hug. You are always so willing to help I hope this stays with you as you grow. You will be the first to run and get me the last laundry basket or to help empty the dishwasher. I forget you are only 3. As most of the time when we ask how old you are you will say 5 or 6. My favorite thing you say right now is when we are going to the pool he says. "Ah lets go to the pooooooo.!" I think by the time you are older you will never really know your given name as you answer to Hyde, Bryson, Duk Duk, Bubba's, Dude. Whatever you go by know we love having you here as part of our family.

First make your favorite Brownie... Mine come in a box. Let them cool.

Then make your favorite Chocolate chip cookie dough. If you want this also could be store bought. I made mine. Scoop out a medium size scoop of dough. Ruffly its 2tbl spoons. then squish flat and place brownie piece about the size of a quarter in the middle of dough circle.
( I like to put the crispier side or top of the brownie side down.)
Then bring sides of dough up over brownie and roll into a ball and place on a cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 mins. the cookies will have a puffy middle. aka where the brownie is. ENJOY!

Way back in April I took all three of the big kids to the dentist it was Hyde's first trip and he did great. And everyone but pour Brody didnt have any cavities.

Today was Brody's Birthday!

So as part of this yearly update I figure I will also fill you in on everything Brody...

First off he is a great, funny,crazy, energetic, wild, loving, caring, gentle when he wants to be little boy. We are so happy to have you in our family Brody. You are the first and most of the time the only person to get your little sister to laugh or smile and the little caterpillar song you learned in preschool and came home to sing to her is NOW her FAVORITE song over any other. You can bet up on your brother one min and the very next min be his best friend. I love to hear you and your siblings in playing and laughing together you have a great laugh and a huge smile. You are so smart. Out of all your friends in preschool you where the only one who didn't need summer school. You have come so far. You are so brave. I know this last year has been full of new and sometimes scary things. We are so happy that when you got sick that now after blessings and working with dr's we can finally see an end. At our last dr's appointment he said you looked awesome and that if you keep it up and don't have a relapse we can stop seeing him. WOOHOO!!!! You are learning how to swim and love the water. At times I think you are a walking TV.. some days I think I am living with a walking advertisement for the local grocery store or a shoe company. You are so funny and in such a innocent way. Like the other day before getting in the shower you where sitting on the toilet and dad asked you what you were doing you go .... Oh well I wanted to poop but my butt wont let me.

Brody we love you so much and are so happy to have you as part of our family. I can't wait to see what kind of person you will be.

So I didnt see that people actually read our blog. hahaha

First things first Chubby Bunny is a game you play with marshmallows. Each person has to place a marshmallow in there mouth and say chubby bunny and then not chew or swallow that until you have gone through everyone else and you add another marshmallow until you have 5 OR 10 in your mouth. The hardest part is watching everyone and not laughing... as that moves things around and this is why you need bowls...

And now cakepops as fun as they are are not my idea. www.bakerella.com she is so creative.. but basically you make your favorite cake let it cool mash it into tiny pieces then put about 2 cups or one can of frosting and mash it all together then roll into balls and freeze for 15mins. then dip into chocolate. so yummy.

So because the kids birthdays are in the middle of summer we were able to celebrate with there school friends this last Friday. And I had seen this great idea so I gave it a try the reds are (spiderman that turned into just spiders on the red ) that is what Brody wanted and Riley just wanted pink. They were so easy to make and when done soooooooo yummy.

Valentines Day! yes I am playing catch up...

So our Valentines Weekend was full of excitement. I was told that just because I am on facebook I don't blog much anymore.... And I have to admit it is very true so much easier to just type a fast statement then a big long blog and upload photos to go with. But I am going to try and get back into the blog land or atleast get all the photos off my phone and camera that need to be seen....

So back to Valentines weekend. I say weekend as it started the 13th for us. My girls down in Kyle have tried acouple of times to give me a baby shower and with my health before she came it just never happened then it was the holidays and more sickness so we were all going to have lunch together down in Austin. So much fun. Robert and all the kids had planned on coming with me but my van needed some repair work done to it and time was just so that Robert also needed to stay and help a neighbor with a move. So we divided and set off to concur. But life had other plans for us. The girls and I where making great time Harper had sleeped most of the way down we were almost to San Marcos. And bam we were in a car accident. Thankfully no other cars where involved. The rental car I was driving blew the front drivers side tire. and when that happend the car fishtailed and I sideswiped the cement wall in the middle of the freeway and then the axle broke as the car was about to go back into traffic. I am so thankful for that broken axle as after googling front tire blow outs wow out of the 3 I watched going slower then we were they all ended up flipping the cars. So needless to say we didnt make it to the lunch. But had fun being driving around town in the back of a police car. After getting a replacement rental we Riley and I decided to head home. But I had to make one stop as the one and only thing that broke in the accident was my underwire bra and wow am I also greatful for garments. And to only have the small sore I have from that.

So we get home and as I am still running on adrenaline and we have a chance for free babysitting. We take it. So we head out to dinner and end up in all places Panda and then run over to Target and get our Valentines gifts NEW PILLOWS yippie. And man did that feel so great that night to sleep on them. SO soft!! Then picked up the kiddos. And went home and ate ice cream.

Sunday I woke up and so did Riley feeling like so stiff and sore. So we sent the boys on there marry way and sleeped in. Then we all got up and made brownies and heart shaped meatloafs. As we were having the missionaries over for dinner. Then I used when we served dinner a cookie cutter and put the mashed potatoes in it as a mold so they had the heart shaped meatloaf and potatoes so cute and then heart shaped brownies and ice cream for dessert. Everyone had a great time.
I think that is it. Hope you all had a very special full of love valentines day.

So Riley decided it was time for a haircut. It wasnt going to be this short but as I was cutting it as you can see the shortest part on the side she moved and seemed to keep moving everytime i went to blend it together. Oh well it is just hair. And I guess she learned her lesson as she says she will never move again when your cutting my hair. As after it just getting shorter and more and more lop sided we ended up at the salon to get it fixed.

Christmas Eve when we had Daddy and Grandma Whitmer here to help. These little houses where at our local grocery store and where just the right size. It was very interesting to see each child put theres together. Riley just did her own thing didnt look at the picture on the box once. Then there was Brody had the picture right next to him and took a long time to get it just right. And then Hyde oh Hyde he I think ate more then ended up on his house. We all had alot of fun.

Baby story

So I have been asked by a few people about what and how did the birth of Harper go. I have never typed up a post like this and so here is goes.

It really started Monday November 16, 2009 we headed out to the dr for out weekly visit. At that visit he just knew I was done. He said so you want this baby here when I go Friday is great joking and he goes well let me go check. He left the room and Robert and I both looked at each other like yeah right he isn't going to induce us as 37 weeks. But he came right back in and said how is 5:30 am for you I go ok sounds great.

So on Thursday night my mom and dad flew in from AZ and where a site for sore eyes.

We didnt sleep much Thursday night and then were up at 4am because heck if I know I am going I was going to look good hahaha.

5:15 am we leave for the hospital

We get back to our room after signing over our lifes about 6:20 am

I change and chit chat with the nurse who is hysterical. ( she was an older lady from england and it was raining out and she had some kind of meeting she was supposed to go to but heck if she was going to it with all this rain she was going to get me going and then head on home.)

But with all the getting to know you going on I didnt get my IV until around 7:30 am

And then we waited. and waited and waited they finally started the pictocin and I was ready. it was about 9 am. It wasnt to bad and then my water broke and man did it break. There was no denying it. And it was a running joke that every time I coughed or sneezed or laughed from about 9am when it broke that the nurses had to change the bedding every time no joke. Robert keeped saying I bet you lost 20lbs of water.

Contractions going well and then all of the sudden around 11:30am everything stopped they came in and turned me all around and then stopped the pitocin and gave me ice and then told me to lay here just like this and dont move. As her heart beat had dropped and they wanted to get it back up.

So I layed there and waited. and waited with no contractions or if there was any very far and not very hard.
Then around 1 they come back in and pump me full of more water but this one has sugar in it so they said it was gatoraid without the flavor yippie for me. And then around that time also they start the pitocin back up and wow did that start things going and going fast. 3pm we were ready to rock and roll. Harper was born in 2 pushes. And a nurse telling Dr Reister nah she is going to have to push along time. And after she was delivered we found out what the problem was she had what they call a"true knot" in her cord. Which they said accounted for the heart rate drop but she pasted her apgar with flying colors at a 9.

She is such a great baby and a blessing to have in our home. I hope that is the good stuff you guys where looking for.

We also with such short notice where able to get one of our old ward families here to also be apart of it. I let each of the kids pick out a fabric they liked then I tryed to make it all work. I think for the most part is turned out really well. At first I wasnt thrilled with the grey and flowery one but it has absolutely grown on me. I love it i'm thinking about adding some of the leftovers of it to some burp clothes.

So we went to Dr this morning he said now you are allowed to have this baby any time now. YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait just need to get through Halloween and Riley's school program on the 5th. So we will see what we can get accomplish before this little one makes her appearance.

So we just got home from the DR. And my blood work looked great and the Dr isn't as concerned. He says I am just feeling this pregnancy more. Which is VERY true. I am so glad for answers to prayers. I just couldn't stop thinking how was Robert going to do it all. He has a very busy work schedule as it is. And he has already taken alot of the extra I normally do on. Coming home in the middle of the day to get Brody and make lunch for the boys. And then even if he has to work late coming home to either bring dinner or help make it. Then if he had to going back out to work. CRAZY I know. So I am happy to just me on the take it easy don't do to much plan for now. So life can get back to normal in little ways around here. Not so much take out and a little more home cooking. SO there is the Update.

Ok so I am going to vent I just need to get this out and be done with it......... Completely Random sorry:)

I feel like I have been pregnant
F O R E V E R!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This pregnancy hasn't been the best or the worst but it has been up and down. Call me CRAZY but I like having babies in the summer. I like knowing that when the heat hits I only have so much longer to go. And then I can stay in my cave because it is to hot to bring a baby out. But this is just crazy it has been the longest SUMMER that I have ever experienced. And if this cold front thingy doesn't stay around HELLO it could still be summer here. SO here is to hoping that this cold will stay...........PLEASE pretty PLEASE for me...

I have been on bedrest now twice this pregnancy. In the beginning that one wasn't so bad as I had my brother come and stay with me and I also had alot of wonderful people around me for support. This second time has only been 2 weeks so not nearly as long as 3 months. But has been alot harder. Hyde needs more and wants to be out and going and doing. The other kids are gone to school for atleast part if not all day. But I feel like I don't have my net around me. Yes my visiting sisters brought dinner in one night which was nice. But I talked to the RS pres and all she can say is well bed rest sucks. THANK YOU I know this . I do have a great friend that just lives around the block but also has her hands full. And she has done alot for us and I hate to ask for more from her. I am not an ASKER! I don't think many moms are. If you are please give me some tips please.

I sit here waiting for my family to come home from church and thinking about what tomorrow is going to bring. ALOT of what if's???? Tomorrow we go to the dr again and hopefully things look better or he is going to throw me into the Hospital because I have had to take my kiddos with me that last couple of times and wow after waiting in a boring waiting room full of nothing to do. Then again waiting in tiny room with lots of new and different buttons and things to touch but not being aloud to touch it can be hard to be perfectly quite.
So I hope everything goes alright.

We will just have to see where this crazy road takes us. I will update tomorrow.

Museum Fun!!

So a few Saturdays back a friend here in Waco who has a family pass to the children's museum aloud us to go with them and check it out before we go and spend the money on a pass. The kids really loved it. There was alot to see. It isn't quite like the one in New Branfels which we love as it is all on one floor and very kid friendly. This one is great too. It is alittle harder to navigate with more then one child as it has two floors and lots of different rooms. Maybe it is just my kids they dont want to stay in one room all together for very long unless it is the bubble/ water room. Thanks again for letting us tag along with you.

So not a lot of things have been going on lately. But wanted to update everyone on the kiddos.

Riley has been full of it lately. Just yesterday we were driving to church and went past the kids school and she just started talking. She was telling us that she was so happy to live in Texas as you are free here. And the people long ago came across the ocean to New York and then came to Texas to be free.
Then she said did you know mom that when Grandma and Grandpa went to school it was in a one room house. I go really? Then she said yeah and you know what else they had these special kind of writing tools called quills and they had to dip them into the ink. Really where does she come up with these things.
She also has become a reading machine. Her school had a book fair last week and so I took her on Friday and she got to pick out a book for each of her brothers and then she got to pick out a a couple of books for herself and she picked out a 3 pack of Junie B Jones books. She came home that night and started the first book and finished it Sunday night after a few forced breaks.

Brody wow has he grown up so fast just in the last two weeks. When he started going to school he would come home with one to 3 time outs in a three hour day. But then after a really bad day something Robert told him must have really clicked. =) So now after 9 straight days of awesome days he is like a changed little boy. He can be so kind and gentle. Like today he gets into the car with after we picked him up at school and Hyde is being Hyde having a hard time being two not wanting to get into the car and Brody goes its ok Hyde I'll sit by you and you can have my sticker which is a hugh thing as this is what he gets if he has no time outs. He is so into spider man and it is so funny to see him jumping along the floor or shooting out his spider webs and having to refuel his webbing by drinking gatorade.

Hyde is getting so big so fast. It is so hard to believe that he is just barely two years old. He talks all the time and is trying to be so independent. He wants to do everything on his own. When he is told to put something away and he doesn't want to he will give it a big hug and look at you with his big ol eyes and say but I Love it!
He is so great to watch playing by himself when Brody is at school he will get out the train tracks and we will build them together and he will then just play on them for a good 30 - 40 mins. He also is learning all the primary songs. And it is so funny when he just walks out and is singing 1 little monkey in the tree snap out of the tree 3 monkeys in the tree no more monkeys in the tree. No catch me No catch me. I think our next big step is going to be trying to get him potty trained. Wish me luck.

What does this penny

and this little girl have to do with each other your probably asking yourselves. Well here you go...

It all started Tuesday afternoon after picking her up from school and getting the homework done she and the boys asked to watch some cartoons while I fixed dinner. I said sure but they wanted to watch them on my bed. So in they go I was talking to my mom and trying to figure out just what I wanted to make for dinner. When Riley runs into the kitchen screaming I am choking on a penny. I knew then that she wasn't and would be ok but she is our over reactor and proceeded to try and throw up the penny to get it out I told her that wasn't a great idea and so to be safe I call poison control. The man on the phone says she should be fine have her take a drink but knowing she is my daughter I have him ask her and then she does it. He also tells her that if you can eat and drink fine it will just come out in your poo she practically drops the phone and runs to the bathroom. I having no idea what he has said pick up the phone and say what did you tell her he goes that is will come out in her pooh I go well she is now trying to pooh. We both started to crack up. It took me 45mins to get her to come out of the bathroom for dinner. And after telling her that your body needs food to make poo. So the next morning as the little worrier woke up she didn't want to get ready for school or eat breakfast so I sent her to the bathroom and told her I would check for the penny. As I walked into the bathroom I grabbed a penny from the extra change and took it with me as I went to flush I threw it in and said look there is a penny in there and now have our Riley back to her old self.

Ok so there isn't one picture of the kids teacher my fault as I forgot the camera at the apartment. But they are both very nice. Riley has Ms. Guy this year for First grade and she is supper sweet and just what Riley needs. And Brody is going to pre-k this year and so far loving it. His teacher is Ms. Ryckec ( RAY- CHECK). And she is awesome! He loves going and is so happy. Hyde gets to have 3 hours of alone mommy time in the mornings and he is loving that he gets to do what he wants and not what the other two have planned for him. SO so far so good.

So its a lot smaller but we are all happy and getting along as best as we can. Sorry it took me so long to get these pictures up. But I would think about it then go oh the whole house is a mess then I would clean and forget to take pictures. I hope this gives you guys a better idea ( mom ).

Today is your birthday and you got up and took the trash out and even changed a diaper before you even woke me up and was out the door to work.

sorry they are all sideways I don't know how to rotate . We were able to have my brother come over for about a month this summer he was a great help and we had a lot of fun. He did so many little jobs that needed to be done around the house while Robert was going back and forth from Waco. He also would play with the kids when I was just to tired or sick to do so. We did get to go to six flags a couple of times and he got Robert and Riley to go on so many more rides then they ever would have. We also would get really silly and goofy with him in the house. IT was a lot of fun. Thanks Bryan for coming and putting a smile on our faces.

Dear Riley Paige or ReeRee,

You have brought some much to our home. 6 years ago today you are the one who made me a mom. You have taught me how to love another even more then I ever thought I was capable of doing. As you grow you are more and more like your dad. You are very out going and LOUD... we all know when you are not happy or when you are very happy.

This morning you woke up before the sun was even out and came running in asking me before I even had knew it. If I was going to tell you Happy Birthday! You decided to go to work today with dad. I hope you have a lot of fun with him.

You can make me crazy at times but I love you to death. You are a great helper around the house and you are willing to do whatever you can. If I let you you would I think take over the world. As just the other day I wasn't feeling good so we couldn't go to the pool and you go "oh mom I would be more then happy to watch the boys at the pool so you could rest". Sometimes I think you are much older then you really are.

I can't believe my baby girl which I am greatful you still let me call you but no one eles can. hehe sorry Robert.. Is 6 you are growing up way to fast. I hope you know that your family loves you very much. And we are so happy you choose to be part of our family. We can't wait to see what you have instore for us this next year.

Dear Hyde,

You are such a little man. I am always telling dad that you are the oldest 2 yr old I have ever known. You get out of so much with the turn of your head and silly smile or the funny way you say "Sorry mommy". You almost always get away with more then your brother or sister. And I have a feeling this is going to bite me on the behind as soon as your little sitter gets here. When we ask you where the baby is you go "I the Baby". You know how to pull on your daddy's heart strings. If he gets home late from work you will get up and just want to snuggle with him.

You always make me smile. You are totally in love with your brother and sister and I just love how the first thing you do when you get home from going on an adventure with dad.(aka a ride in the car) you run past me to get to them. You are such a blessing in our home. Even when you were a baby you were always willing to just go with the flow.

We hope you had a wonderful birthday full of swimming and playing and yummy food. I love you tons. Even when you give me puppy dog kisses all over my face. I can't wait to see what the next year brings.

So this afternoon I was checking my email and got one from my new ward. They are asking me to type up a few paragraphs about myself so they can get to know me better. No questions just off the top of my head.

So my question to you is how would you do this is it was you? And do you find it easy to talk or write about yourselfs? It is not my favorite thing to do. But I guess I'll get over my fear and just do it.

On the other hand all afternoon I was busy making dinner not for us but for a little family that just had there first baby. And man did it smell yummy.. Apricot chicken with almond couscous or however it is spelled and broccoli.. So have way though I hadn't gone to the store and was out of bread but really wanted a snack so I opened my fridge and what did I see.. Peanut butter yes it is in the fridge it is to dang hot here in Texas people it melts hello. And cheddar cheese. Yes cheese and flour tortillas. So I open the tortillas and peanut butter and spread it on then cut the cheese really thin and place it on top then rolled the thing up. Oh man was it soooooo yummy. I know I know your thinking cheese and peanut butter. But go and try it before you knock it. I bet you anything you will love it.

So sorry this is a day late. But heck it is better late then never. I was asked to speak at church on father's day. So here is my talk.

Priesthood…

The Priesthood is the eternal power and authority of God. Through the priesthood God created and governs the heavens and the earth. Through this power he redeems and exalts His children, bring to pass “the immortality and eternal life of man”

God gives priesthood authority to worthy male members of the Church so they can act in His name for the salvation of His children. Priesthood holders can be authorized to preach the gospel, administer the ordinances of salvation, and govern the kingdom of God on earth.

For a male member of the church to hold the priesthood, an authorized priesthood holder must confer it on him and ordain him to an office of the priesthood.

Although the authority of the priesthood is bestowed only on worthy male members of the church, the blessings of the priesthood are available to all- men, women, and children. We all benefit from the influence of righteous priesthood leadership, and we all have the privilege of receiving the saving ordinances of the priesthood.

The most important exercises of the priesthood take place in the FAMILY. Each husband and father in the Church should strive to be worthy to hold the Melchizedek Priesthood. With his wife as an equal partner, he presides in righteousness and love, serving as the family’s spiritual leader. He leads the family in regular prayer, scripture study, and family home evening. He works with his wife to teach the children and help them prepare to receive the ordinances of salvation. He gives priesthood blessings for direction, healing and comfort.

Many members do not have faithful Melchizedek priesthood holders in their homes. However, through the service of home teachers and priesthood leaders, ALL members of the church can enjoy the blessings of the priesthood power in their lives.

The exercise of the priesthood authority in the church in governed by those who hold priesthood keys. Those who hold priesthood keys have the right to preside over and direct Church within a jurisdiction. For example, a bishop holds priesthood keys that enable him to preside in his ward. Therefore, when a child in that ward is prepared to be baptized, the person baptizing the child must receive authorization from the bishop.

Jesus Christ holds all the keys of the priesthood. He has given His Apostles the keys that are necessary for governing His church. Only the Senior Apostle, the President of the Church, may use (or authorize person to use) these keys for governing the entire church.

The president of the Church delegates priesthood keys to other priesthood leaders so they can preside in their areas of responsibility. Priesthood keys bestowed on presidents of temples, missions, stakes, and districts; bishops; branch presidents; and quorum presidents. A person who serves in one of these positions holds the keys only until he is released. Counselors do not receive keys, but do receive authority and responsibility by calling and assignment.

How to exercise the Priesthood Righteously?

Priesthood holders must remember that the priesthood should be part of them at all times and in all circumstances. It is not like a cloak that can be put on and taken off at will. Any ordination to a priesthood office is a call to lifelong service, with the promise that the lord will qualify priesthood holders to do His work according to their faithfulness.

Priesthood holders must be worthy in order to receive and exercise the priesthood power. The words they speak and their everyday behavior affect their ability to serve. Their behavior in public must be above reproach. Their behavior in private is even more important. Through the Prophet Joseph Smith, the Lord declared that “ the rights of the priesthood are inseparably connected with the powers of heaven, and that the powers of heaven cannot be controlled nor handled only upon the principles of righteousness.”

In the The Family a Proclamation to the World it says…

Husband and Wife have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other and for their children. “ Children are an heritage of the Lord” Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, and to teach them to love and serve one another, observe the commandments of God , and be law abiding citizens wherever they live. Husbands and wives- mothers and fathers – will be held accountable before God for the discharge of these obligations.

It also says.

By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families.

I would like to share a few experiences the Father’s in my life have shown me how they honor there sacred duties as fathers and priesthood holders.

My dad for one has been a constant in my life. When growing up I remember receiving blessings from him when I was sick or getting ready for the next school year.

He also taught me it was ok to get up at 5 in the morning to have family prayers. Or to go out to the church farms and pick corn in the hot Arizona sun.

Growing up even with working and going to school and serving in the bishop brick or the scouting program he always made time for each one of us. Every Friday night for as long as I can remember would be my mom and dad’s date night and to this day they still do this.

Every Fast Sunday he would pull each one of us into his office for PPI’s or personal priesthood interviews. During these times we would pray together and would talk about how we each felt about things going on. We also got to plan in these meeting together our next daddy date with him. These would be as little as going to go get ice cream or filling up the cars with gas. But they are times I will never forget and where I really got to know and understand my dad.

One thing I have always treasured about my dad is his testimony.

This last Christmas, my parents, as one of our gifts, typed up a letter to each of us with there testimony in it this was and will be something I hold on to forever. It is always great to hear and feel there testimonies.

Other Father figures in my life where not necessarily related to me. And I don’t think they have to be. Just being able to see how these men in my Ward Family treated there wives and children and how they served one another also helped me to grow and understand what I wanted in my own life and husband.

When I was younger and starting to date one of my young women’s leaders challenges us to make a list of things qualities we wanted to have in our husbands. So I made this list and still have it in my Journal.

It was through these qualities and good examples I was able to find a worthy young man that was willing to marry me. After dating many toads it was like a breath of fresh air when I meet Robert. After just knowing him for a short time I just knew he was the one I wanted to marry. I watched him handle being drilled with questions by my mother and aunt and never flinch. I saw him get told by my own mother that she took no returns and still he chose to ask me. After watching him go through this, I knew he could handle what I could throw at him.

It is a huge blessing having a husband who is a worthy priesthood holder. Even when I would be completely ok going three years or longer without having to give a talk, he is first to raise his hand and say “If I am able, I will do it.” Words cannot express how grateful I am that he was able to bless my three perfectly behaved children that are probably out in the foyer right now. It gives me peace to know that when one of us is sick, or in need of comfort, he is willing and able to provide a priesthood blessing.

I am grateful for the good example Roberts father was to him. I was only able to know him a short time. From that time, however, I learned and will be eternally thankful for his kindness and patience with me, even though at times I didn’t have a lot of the same for him. He helped lead and guide my husband into the man and priesthood holder he is today.

This quote from an unknown author reminds me of all the father figures in my life. It states that “a truly rich man is one whose children run into his arms when his hands are empty.” It brings me great joy to see my husband playing and interacting with my sons, knowing that these experiences are helping to build them into the fathers and priesthood holders that will one day be responsible for their own families.

I would like to bear my testimony. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for us and that we were sent here to earth to have challenges and to learn and grow. I am thankful for the priesthood and the many blessings I have received. I am thankful for Temples and the blessing of being able to have eternal families. I am thankful for missionary work and what joy I know this brings to the lives of the people that are willing and ready to learn. I am thankful for The Church and being a member of it. I know that it is the only true church. I know that President Monson is the only true Prophet on the earth. I know Jesus Christ died for me so that I would be able to return home to my Heavenly Father some day. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

So I guess when you are stuck at home with your almost 4yr old and almost 2 yr old it can either lead to insanity or good times.....

So today Brody my almost 4yr old hits is toe on the couch not really hard and Hyde almost 2 yr old sees this happen. Brody drops to the floor and go "FART NUGGET that hurt" so then Hyde runs over to the couch and kicks it and drops to the floor and goes "Oh man!" Anyway it made me laugh. As fart nugget is Robert favorite saying lately. So like father like son.

So this is my latest project. And I wanted to show you it up before I take it down and pack it away for awhile. I have been thinking about this for about 1 yr. I drew it up and then just stuffed it into one of my many idea notebooks. And then just keeped an eye out for thing cheap. Yes people I am cheap and didn't want to spend an arm and two legs on this. So I was thinking cheap. So I ended up at Hobby Lobby and found the frame the large one for only 6 dollars. And the others here and there.. IKEA, Target and garage sales. So after having the large frame for almost 3 months and being stuck here at home I figured I could sit and paint everything one color as some of the frames where really bad. So for about 25 bucks. And alittle work. What do you think????

That this week has been a tough one....

*First Robert left for Waco for the week

* after forgetting Riley had snack Tuesday I loaded all the kids into the car to head to HEB and ended up on the side of the road for 1 1/2 hours with a flat tire.

* the very next morning running behind had alot to get done. Ran outside in my pj's to take Riley with the boys got them all loaded and went to turn on the car and it was dead.... had to run down a neighbor who was nice enough to take her.

* Go to the Dr and get poked oh 4 times told ok your done and head out. Get my kids into the car to only find it is dead once again and a nurse running after me telling me that she needed more blood.

* got a new tire

* and a new battery

* went back and got poked another 3 time (I have spaghetti for veins)

And made it home just in time for the school bus. It can only go up from here right???

Moving!!!

I guess I shouldn't be surprised we are not the kind atleast since we have been married to stick to one place for to long. So we are off on our next adventure. Robert took a sortof new job up in Waco Texas and to be able to actually see us more then once a week we have decided to go with him. He has to be up there May 5th so I will be packing and packing. And hoping that we can get our house rented. And find a good rental house in Waco or the surrounding area.

This post is for myself and not to make anyone feel bad.... This probably wont make much since sorry no proper anything sorry.. WARNING T.. M.. I.. ahead.

Wednesday March 25Th we found out we were expecting number 4. I didn't quite know how to feel about it. We didn't tell many people. And still probably wouldn't say anything but I just can't wrap my brain around what is going on . And Knowledge is power...

My heart wasn't fully into being pregnant right now. Yes babies are great and adding to our family is always exciting. But I was just trying to get everything from everyone else in our family and myselfs stuff put back together. But I was warming up to the idea I could still work out through the pregnancy and not be put behind by it.

April 9Th was my first OB appointment I couldn't shack this very nervous feeling. Robert was with me and very excited. The nurse came in and did all the vitals and confirmed that yes we were indeed pregnant. Then the nurse practitioner came in and did all the examines. Everything looked OK until she did the breast examine she said oh you have a couple lumps we will be keeping a close eye on as they could be normal or could be something abnormal.

Then the ultrasound tech came in and did that. At first we all thought it was twins but then she started looking more and more closely. Then called the doctor in to talk to us. So hello we have now seen I think everyone in the office right. So he comes in and goes OK there are two things. First is that you have a cyst on your right ovary and that could or could not mean that you just ovulated on that side. But we will have to watch it. Then he goes now about the twin thing it isn't twins it is one and a blood clot in your uterus now here is what could happen the baby could outgrow the blood clot and make the body just absorb it or the body can chose to eliminate the whole pregnancy to get the clot out. We were shocked. And still really have no answers to why or how a clot forms. But I have been put on limited activity and also on a hormone to help. We are hoping and praying that in two weeks when we go back that the baby has grown and not the blood clot.

So right now the whole house is dealing with a emotional roller coaster for a mom. We know that whatever is supposed to happen will.

Spring Break....

This was Riley's first real Spring Break.......

And boy was it a busy one. Monday we did laundry and hung out at the house. Before running errands in the afternoon to get ready for Tuesday.

Tuesday ~Riley was invited to a friends house and since she also has little brothers we all went and had a little Saint Patrick's day party. Last min I made some cookies I had planned on making with just my kiddos. And took them to let the kids frost them. But mostly the kids just had fun. I forgot my camera so Anna if you have any pic's you could send me that would be awesome!

Wednesday~ what was Wednesday... We meet friends at the park for a picnic. Then went fruit and veggie shopping with more friends. Then came home really fast and went to the YMCA.

Thursday~ We just couldn't see it happening any other day and we where sad no one could make it with us but we headed down to the San Antonio Zoo. We heard from a friend that there was a water park there for the kids so we made sure to bring our suits. Wow was it fun. And we are so happy to have gotten a year zoo pass as I can see just going down there for a couple of hours here and there. Lots of fun. Then we got home and had two new friends come over and play. It was so fun to see Hyde playing with kiddos his age.

Friday~ We headed out with the twins (our new friends) to the Austin Zoo... What a different zoo. I would recommend going with only kids that walk as the path ways are dirt. Not so fun pushing a double stroller up and down hills with a 5 yr old and 2 yr old in it. But the animals where sooo close. And it is not to far away. It was a great morning activity.

How to make fruit roll ups...

Find ripe strawberries a lot of them. And a few helpful kiddos. Wash and cut strawberries. Put into blender until smooth adding alittle apple juice to blend. Then taste...... need something then add alittle honey or sugar whatever you like. next line baking sheets with saran wrap. Pour strawberry mix onto sheet with antsy kids underfoot dont' drop it. And only just to coat the pan. About 1 to 2 cups. Then turn oven on to lowest temp. And bake for atleast 6 -8 hrs. or overnight. Making the hungry kids go to bed with out any. Next morning it will be ready to eat. And it wont be there for long once you taste it. YUMMY!!!

Text Book + the goings on at our house this week.

That is what the doctor on Thursday told us how Brody was doing. We are so excited just Wednesday we got our first ever negative reading for protein. But we were also told the question isn't will he relapse it is when. But as long as we can be prepared and know what to we will be ok.

Also this week was full of up's and down's as on the same day we got the good news about Brody we also had some scary news for Hyde. He was not breathing to well and had been up most of the night I called when the doctors office opened to get him in but they couldn't see him until 3 which was ok as I had to be in Austin at 10am. So I gave him a treatment before we left home and by the time we were done with Brody's appointment the nerpherologist (SP)kidney specialist was starting to ask me if he was ok. So I called again and they said bring him now I asked if I should just go next store to the children s hospital and they said that if he got any worse then yes but to just hurry down so they could try a couple of things before having to go there. When we got to the doctors office they did his pulse ox and we had to do it 3 times so that we could get it over 94 as it started out at 88 and then after the third try we got it to 95 so we didnt have to spend the night at the hospital. We have had to do breathing treatments every 3 to 4 hours day and night but it is at home. We are very greatful for good doctors that trust us and our instincts as parents.

On Friday I had a girls night at the house there was so many great ladies that came and good discussions and great laughs. And oh so yummy food. Thanks everybody that came it was a great relaxing fun night. I can't wait to do it again.

Saturday was a busy day on paper and turned out to not be so bad. Robert and the young men did a service project. Then he came home and the neighbor behind us came over to tell us that he was going to be working on the fence to he would be in and out of the backyard so then Robert went and worked on that as we both had plans on working on the fence next Saturday and didn't feel right having him do all the work when it was helping us out too. Later that afternoon Riley had a birthday party to go. ( And can I tell you what I think she has had at least one if not more birthday parties every Saturday since the beginning of the year. On Saturday she had 4 to go to.) But she had fun and it was close to home. She has really made a lot of good friends this year.

Today Robert just headed off to church as when Riley got home after being at the party for over 2 1/2 hours decided to throw a fit and ended up throwing up and to be on the safe side and to not spread anything if it wasn't just Riley we keeped her home and the boys because Hyde can't make it that long way from home. And Brody started this morning with a runny nose and his protein levels had gone up.

So nothing terribly exciting. Just as Meet the Robinsons says we are just going to keep moving forward. Can you tell I've been watching A LOT of Movies!!!!

Way behind SORRY!!! Good News

So Tuesday the 20th we went back to the specialist to get the results of the kidney biopsy...

Brody has Minimal Change Disease. In other word is it where for no reason your body starts to attack itself and this disease attacks the kidneys. We hope that since this disease is so rare something like 1 in 300,000 that we will also be lucky and he will be one that out grows it before he hits adulthood. This was also the least sever on the list of the things they where testing for.

So we started treatment which is a course of steroids that in return for killing all the bad things it also makes is immunity to other things lower. So for the next 1 to 3 months we might not be going to many places. And we will also be testing his urine daily for along time. But hopefully when we go back to the specialist in February that we will get more good news that this is working and that we will not have to go with the stronger stuff.

Change of attitude

So here is the deal.... I haven't always been the most outspoken political person (it's me, the husband here), but I'm also not an idiot. During the election season/process, whatever you may choose to call it, I was one of two republicans in the office that I work. I freely admit that I did vote on my party lines, but do not consider myself, necessarily, in agreement with all the views of the republican party. During that process, however, I did feel that I received un-due criticism from some of the other people in my office because of my "declared" political alignment. I admit that I did lose some respect for now President Obama solely on the actions of other democrats that I know. Flash forward roughly 3 months.

With the employment that I have; I have the opportunity to be in peoples houses and interact with them on a 1 on 1 basis. I often deal with people that are not necessarily what most would consider young. I had an experience with one such person today. Her name is Mrs. Williams. Now Mrs. Williams is an 80+ year old lady. One that has lived in the south (Austin, TX) her entire life. She went to a segregated high school, remembers going to rallys where Dr. King spoke, and lived through the hatred of the civil rights movement. I had the opportunity to visit this wonderful woman today. This woman went and bought a TV for the sole purpose of watching the inaguration today. She woke up at 5 in the morning so she could get her errands done to be home for the 7 AM start of the TV coverage. The portion of todays events that I was able to see with this woman was the inagural parade when President Obama was WALKING down the street hand in hand with his wife. The new respect I have gained for this man was sparked by this man walking down the street. He showed no fear in his eye, although some crazy person would love to make a memory of himself by causing this man harm. He seems like one of the guys that you could invite over to watch the super bowl. He seems human. Now I am not that old, a mere 27 years, but I have read history books and talked to my parents and grand parents. The last president to have this type of appearence was Kennedy. I am in no way changing my political stances, but just sharing my change of opinion. I just have one word of advice (not like he'll read our blog anyways), but just please try to do what you say.

Good luck President Obama, may you be open to the inspiration of our Heavenly Father in guiding our country.

So this week has flown by so fast and yet again gone by sooooooooo slow...

One of the best things was on Friday I packed the boys into the car and took a drive and on our way home stopped past the mail box and there was a package waiting there for us. It was from a dear friend from Mesa she is so sweet. In the box was something for each of my kiddos. And Chocolates and these magnets that she made with little uplifting sayings for moms. They have been on my fridge ever since and they help when the day hasn't gone so well. Thanks Laurie!!!

Question for all the moms out there in the blogging world... Lately Riley my 5 year old has been very sneaky/mean. Example yesterday she was playing with her brothers nicely and then we hear Hyde crying and go to see what is going on she is holding him saying its ok. We think oh that is nice. And go on then about 5 mins later Hyde comes in and find us and he has a bite mark on his arm. So we call Riley in and ask her what happened? She goes I don't know... I ask her again. her face gets low and she goes I DON'T KNOW!!!! I ask her one more time and she goes I bite him. I then ask her why and she says because he wasnt doing what I wanted him to do. WHAT....

Then this morning the kids where watching tv and being nice as I was making breakfast when Brody walks in and says Riley pinched me. I go where and there was a red mark on his skin under his shirt. I again asked her if she had done this or not and she goes gosh Brody. I didnt do it. I go what are you sure. Then she spills the beans and goes yes I did but you where not supposed to see it. What? I have told her if she can be good and help me then I will have time to do something with her but when she doesn't listen and makes problems then it makes it harder for me to get everything done and to want to let her do fun things. Am I wrong? What am I not doing? If you have any ideas please let me know.

We are home and so far doing well. The hardest part is keeping him down and not running all over the house. It was a LONG night with its ups and downs as the doctor told us that night time is always the hardest time of the day for the little guys. In the early morning hours I really couldn't tell you exactly when but before the sun was up they came in for the 4th time in 24hours to draw blood and test it. And then came back in and started to wake him up and give me a lot of attention. Never a word was said to me as there was something wrong or not. But to come to find out I guess his blood level had dropped and they had to take another sample and luckly it came back up on its own or we would have been stuck in that hospital for more then just one day. The nurses where wonderful even at 2 am quietly asking me did he pee? But we are so glad to be home where the beds are just alittle softer and we can rest. We still have a long road and this is just the begining. We are scheaduled to go in and get the results of the tests Tuesday morning and we will let everyone know as soon as we can.

Thank you so much to all the wonderful people in our life who have already helped us so much. With watching kids or just playing with them so our hands would be free.

Brody Update

Today was the day we went in to surgery. It was a good day he got to play with his little brother all over the halls of the hospital. Riding Bikes watching movies.

He walked right back there with the doctors when it was time and was so brave. The doctor said he did really well and they had to take not two but three piece of his kidney as the first two had to much of the inner layer and they needed also the outer layer of the kidney. We are now in his room for the night and he is doing well. We are looking forward to being able to go home tomorrow.

So this weekend was one of the longest ever. I called the doctor this morning and we have a date but no time. He is rescheduled for surgery on Tuesday the 13th. When I find out more I will let you know.

So with everything going on life has been crazy. I seriously took down last years calendar and went to replace it and just looked at the months and what we had done. It made me sick. There where few and very far between that there was a day of nothing. I think that is what I honestly need right now is nothing. But am thinking that will not happen anytime soon. A few nights ago Brody was up later then everyone else as he had wet the bed and so as it was only 8 we decided to just wash everything then and not wait until morning and let him stay up it was also the day we got to bring him home from the hospital and be on that emotional roller coaster. So I guess both Robert and I where just glad he was whole and here. Yes maybe sick but right now he was here and we were not having to worry about the what if's. I have never had to do anything like this in my life and it is so much harder then I ever thought it would be. I look at other moms and dads who are going through much worse or have gone through and I am amazed at there positive outlook on life. I want that.
I need that.. But all I can think about it the bad. The very bad.

Why Brody????
I need to do laundry.
I need to take the Christmas stuff down.
I need to make dinner atleast once this week the leftovers are going to get old sooner then later.

Its hard to go on with normal life. Its hard to do the laundry when all you want to do it sit and hold your babies not knowing really what is going on inside there little bodies or when they will be called home to our Father in Heaven. I hope it gets easier with the more answers you get.

Maybe this is all to make me more patient. I don't want to me patient. I want to be on the phone calling the same doctors office that is on vacation until Monday for the holiday to see if someone might just answer the phone but I wont.
I need to make goals for this year but it is so hard to when you don't know where others will be guiding you and your decisions. If Brody wants enough right now to worry about, Roberts work is talking changes. Which would mean moving. My church calling isn't exactly what was asked and I am still trying to figure out just what they want.
I am glad for great friends as with out them I think I would be pulling my hair out right now. I mean I am to the point where I have done everything I feel I can I mean really how many times can I google Kidney problems and read it ALL over and over. I guess what I really need is to just leave it up to the lord. But man that is hard.
Why is it so easy for Robert to fall asleep anywhere.
Why can't I sleep?
Why if we weren't supposed to get answers fast did I with my naked eye see something the doctor said should have been impossible?
Why do I feel like this is going to be a LONG journey?
Why are we so far away from family?
I should make cookies.

Today we packed everything up got the babysitter ready and left for the Children's Hospital. When we got there Brody had fallen asleep in the car so I grabbed him and took him in he said he was cold but it was outside was in the 70's. We got in and checked in and I felt him and he was burning up. They took is temperature and it was 103.0 so we where sent home. And told to go see our pediatrician and figure out why he was having a fever. So this is where we are now. The biopsy has been put off until we get him over this whatever it is.
We are going to the doctor at 4 and will let you know what we find out then.

In other news this was a huge blessing in decise as today we walk in there thinking that we only have to pay one amount and where told that it was going to be almost 2000 dollars. Wow! But now that it wont be until after the 1st we will be on a new health insurance plan and it will only be 200 dollars. I am so greatful for a loveing watchful Heavenly Father.
